Italian Haka

Apparently down under there is a big hoohaa (ruckus) about an Italian Fiat ad featuring the haka.

I am not too worried about this. It is someway flattering that they would take an icon from the South Pacific and use it to promote a small black Fiat car, however some people are.

The commercial – used to advertise Fiats – comes from the Turin office of ad agency Leo Burnett, and depicts the women doing the ‘Ka Mate’ version of the haka beside a black car, with a background noise of a crowd cheering.

We always pummel Italians just like the Aussies in sport anyway.
