Kiwiana: Buzzy Bee Toy

The Buzzy Bee is a piece of kiwi culture. Most kiwi kids grow up with at least one of these “pull-along” toys. The wings rotate making a clicking sound. From Wikipedia:
Designed and first produced in the 1940s by Hec and John Ramsey, it became popular during the post-war baby boom. Its bright colours and clicking sound call are familiar to many New Zealanders, making it one of the most well-recognised items of Kiwiana.

Such a great looking thing! I am more used to “pull-along” car toys. These are popular in Britain, at least were – when I was a kid
I have never heard of the Buzzy Bee, probably because I am from Canada.
When I was growing up I had a pull-along wiener dog slinky toy. Would play with it for hours and had a great time. Mom would always have to come and untangle it though.
It didn’t make any noise though. Yours sounds like it would be fun.
Brings back great memories when toys were simple!

I remember these from when i was a kid. i’m surprised they haven’t been sued by someone yet for the string part and choking hazards.

I found it interesting that pull-along toys with moving parts are known around the world.
