Zune not IPod Killer, a Microsoft Partner Killer
American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu makes a good point that I also alluded to. Microsoft’s marketshare for the first two years for the Zune player is going to be directly taken from the Microsoft Partners, not from Apple.
One, is that the market is expected to see robust growth across the board for MP3 players. The second reason, he said, is that analysts see Zune doing more damage against Microsoft partners in digital music, such as makers Creative, SanDisk, and Archos, to name a few.
This means a bloodbath as the 2nd tier players fight it out.
