My uncle has had one for over 15 years now, its done over 400,000k and its still going perfectly - he does take very good care of it but its still pretty amazing. Hes had it since it was new! It's interesting to consider the visual styling difference between US vehicles and those overseas. The theory behind the car is sound though. We could use a stripped down car or two over here...it would just have to be styled a bit more akin to the US car look.
