I just re-watched “Heavenly Creatures” a couple of months ago. It’s a very good, though disturbing movie.

Jackson’s skill is in the shall we say, dark and brooding. That is why he is so successful. But I agree with you.
Cheers
To many non film buff’s Peter jackson only came to light with the lord of the rings trilogy, But for me his earlier movies better portray his directing skill’s and dark mind.

Peter Jackson is a great director. I particularly loved his Heavenly Creatures, Lord of the Rings and King Kong. I’m not so familiar with his horror works but I’m inspired to look them up now.
Peter Jackson is one of my favorite movie directors! I enjoy his films so much, I’m a huge fan. Heavenly Creatures is one of a must-see movie for people who like watching “not ordinary” films.
