Wind in the Willows Woos Wellington
First the hobbits, then Narnia and Tintin, now Toad, Badger, Rat and Mole are to be brought to life by Weta Workshop of ‘Wellywood’ in a big-screen adaptation of The Wind in the Willows.
Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame is the next film in the line of best loved classic fiction being created for the big screen. Willows was first published in 1908. Others include Tintin and Lord of the Rings.
Filming will begin in New Zealand at the end of this year.
The Wind in the Willows is another prospective blockbuster for the Weta Workshop team which now holds a raft of major awards . It centers on the story of four furry friends – Toad, Badger, Rat and Mole, and their adventurous journey towards learning the true value of friendship. In the script, written by Bill Marsilli, the friends band together to save their land from a sinister plot to destroy an uneasy truce between the peaceful animals of the Willows and what remains of Mankind.

Wow I used to love this as a child, brings back loads of memories, I’m actually taking my little boy to see this as a pantomime in December, can’t wait!!!
I used to get this as a bed time story and im currently reading it to my son when its his bed time. love the story, such imagination. great for kids.
