With the new second HBO season well under way, Jemaine and Bret, known as the hardup duo Flight of Conchords are dispensing more of their kiwi wisdom. This weekend’s New York Times Weekend has an interview with the comedy duo.

They reveal that in this weeks episode, the New Zealand Prime Minister (actor not John Key) will come to the USA to meet with Barack Obama.

The best quip of the interview:

You first met as drama students at Victoria University in Wellington.
Bret: It started off as a punch-out. Jemaine: In the New Zealand tradition, we started off fighting like two Russell Crowes. Now we’re amicable rivals. Bret: In between fights we’d write comedy songs.

You can read the full interview online here.

PS: Russell Crowe changed his citizenship from New Zealand to Australia last year, hence the reference. He is now no longer gracing the pages herein.
