Saturn Gets European Religion

The europeanisation of Saturn continues with the release of the Saturn Astra (above) later this year.
This change has been a long time coming. Saturn has been treated as the runt of the GM pack for many years and looked like it would go the way of the Talon and the Geo.
However along with the Aura, GM has imported a vastly superior product from the Vauxhall UK and Opel ranges:

The reception of the Aura and now the Astra shows that the North American public are tired of poor quality of the Chevy Caviler and others of it’s poor cousins and are looking for vehicles that compete with Honda and Toyota in the small and mid market. These products should make Saturn very competitive with the Japanese. It is about time…..

Here here, Saturn has the respect of import buyers and should be the division to carry the banner for sub-compact, compact and mid-size, sport sedan GM products.
