The obscure third Conchord Todd Barry from the first season of Flight of the Conchords, along with Arj Baker (AJ) and Kristen Schaal (Mel) are to appear at this years Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee.
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual, four-day music festival, first held in 2002. The festival is held at Great Stage Park on a 700 acre (2.8 km²) farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles (97 km) southeast of Nashville, Tennessee. The festival began with a primary focus on jam bands, but has diversified greatly in recent years and now includes a comedy festival headlined this year by Jimmy Fallon from Saturday Night Live.
The word Bonnaroo is actually a New Orleans Ninth Ward slang construction taken from the French “bon” meaning “good” or “best” and “aroo” from the English “around”, translating to “the best on the streets”.
In “The Third Conchord”, the twelfth and final episode of the first season of Flight of the Conchords, Barry played Todd, a bongo playing megalomaniac, who tries to introduce the song, “Doggy Bounce,” to the Conchords’ repertoire. He goes on to success with the band “The Crazy Dogggz”.
