Weta Workshop Shows Up At Blizzard Entertainment

Uploaded on Flickr by ackdoh
Blizzard Software, the creators of World of Warcraft recently completed their new Irvine CA offices with a 12 foot statue created by Weta Workshop. The statue was modeled in New Zealand at Weta Workshop in Miramar, then shipped to China where it was worked on for the bronze molding, and then obviously shipped to the USA.
The statue is of an Orc on a Wolf. Orc (OR’k) is a word used to refer to various races of tough and warlike humanoid creatures in various fantasy settings, appearing originally in the stories of Middle-earth written by J. R. R. Tolkien and derivative fictions.
You can see the OC Register Gallery of the move here.

Whooa! Nice statue! Horde FTW! I used to play World of Warcraft but now I don’t have the time anymore. Now it’s basically work, work, work!
Wow that was a great article thanks for sharing and that statue is just stunning too, I have never played the game so I wouldn’t be able to comment on that.
a nice statue. I use to play world of warcraft with my friends everyday and all of us are addicted to it because it’s cool and fun!
Wow, this is really cool, I have been a Blizzard Entertainment fan all of my life, their artwork is always outstanding too, so fun to look at. Seems like it was a really great event, I am jealous that I was not able to attend.
