Photoblogging from Otago Peninsula (Video)
Phototourism and Photoblogging is a growing past-time (and occupation) throughout the world and New Zealand is no exception. It is many varied and compelling landscapes and subjects within close reach of the main centers allow for day tripping as well as longer excursions.
In this video (after the jump) intrepid photourists capture the beauty of some of the world’s rarest wildlife on Otage Peninsula, not 1/2 an hour from the City of Dunedin.
Featured in this video is celebrity Aussie blogger Neerav Bhatt. I have guest posted on his blog www.roadlesstravelled.com.au, check it out.

I like this kind of profession, relaxing at the same time working! Thanks for the post
Me too, I wish I could do that full time. Cheers no problem
Wow, that was a breathtaking video. I never really thought of photography as being a catalyst for tourism before, but really it makes a lot of sense. If I was into photography I would probably base some of my travel destinations based on the landscape. Maybe I need to take it up
Please do….You can do it around your local area you live in.
There are plenty of subjects in your local town.
This activity seems to be interesting – I’d like to try my skills at photoblogging.
Cheers – Go to it.
Hi. Great stuff. I am from Auckalnd and I will head down to Otago next week. How’s the weather down there? I am good with photography as hobby but never do a Photoblogging. I should start Photoblogging myself too. Good idea to share stuff instead of through facebook.
Well I am not from Otago, but it is the middle of winter…so beware…
Interestingly, many thanks for your invaluable work!
This cant’ be called work, it looks too enjoyable!
Thanks for sharing, going to check this guys blog out, and see what is all there.
I agree to you Michelle,
Some people make this as a hobby at the same time they earn big bucks on the pictures that they take. I call this profitable hobby. Cheers! Nice blog here..

More and more people are now doing photoblogging because the income here is good.
Photoblogging must really be an very nice activity, spend some time in the wild, practicing photography, especially on a place of such natural beauty as this Otago peninsula.

Are there scheduled/paid trips for this? I Wonder if one could get to rent some nice SLRs just to get the feel of how it is before actually sinking in hundreds of dollars buying a camera.

It is so true, how a picture is worth a thousand words. I just start doing photography just as a hobby not that great yet but would love to do it as a career someday. Photoblogging is something I can also see myself doing.
